Yes, he has. Have you ever read his book On Writing? King worked on it while he recovered from the accident. In it he tells about growing up poor and his earlier experiences in writing. At the end of the book he tells about the accident that nearly killed him, his recovery and getting back into writing. It took him a long time before he was able to walk again without the aid of crutches.
