In Crystal Clear Christmas: Plague has struck the village of Zama and the citizens blame the only human left on Zenevieva, Maya. Will Vach make the ultimate sacrifice to save his wife?
Excerpt from Crystal Flower Christmas:
After she rolled up the futon, Vach walked in, picked it up and took it out. The sexy way he smiled at her reminded her of how they’d met five years ago on a trip to a dig site, looking for matrix crystals on Hymeneal Night.
She’d desired him then. After they married, she’d longed to have babies with him and now look at the result. They’d lost their one and only child.
It’s my fault. If I had accepted what had been given to me and not wanted it all, perfect husband and children, we wouldn’t be suffering now.
After pulling on her coat and a tugging knit cap over her head, Maya dragged herself out of the tent. Vach brought her breakfast a flat bread sandwich made with tama cheese and lightly fried winter veggies. She nodded her thanks and took the food, then sat by the fire and stared into it.
Vach knelt down to look at her. “What happened? You were fine just a little while ago, and now you’re not.”
She pulled away and shook her head. “Never mind. It’s not important.” She gazed into the fire. “Nothing important.”
“What’s wrong?” Xeno asked.
Vach stood. “I don’t know.”
After breakfast, the tents were struck down and the snags loaded up. Vach pulled a winter riding cloak around Maya, and then directed her to a rock so she could mount Brawley. She was glad that the aging sherakey would follow the other animals and all she’d have to do was sit in the saddle.
Once she was astride her mount, her husband checked the stirrups like he always did. He stopped and looked up at her. “I have something to give you that I was saving for
Winter Solstice or your Earth Christmas.”
He took out a wrapped item out of Zareth’s saddle bag and brought it to her. He pressed the gift into her hand. Something about the feel of the present seemed familiar.
She unwrapped the gift. It was one of her missing crystal flowers. She tightened her jaw and glared at him. “It was you!”
“Yes, it was.” He smirked at her and ran to get on his mount.
She took the reins and kicked Brawley so she could get closer to Vach. “You’re the one who’s been stealing the flowers I made?”
“Yes.” He gave her another one of his smug smiles. Vach urged Zareth into a canter, leaving her and Brawley in the dust.
“It took hours to make those flowers, you jerk!” Maya shoved the flower in her coat pocket, then dug her heels into her steed’s sides and took off after him. “Move it, Brawley. I know you can go faster than this.”
“Hey, wait! Where are you two going?” Xeno yelled from behind them.
Maya chased her jackass of a husband all day. Every time she got close to him, he’d smile back at her in that insufferable way. “So, what are you going to do about it?” he said each time.
Then he’d leave her in the dust again.
I am proud to announce the release of my four book in the Matrix Crystal Saga.
Matrix Crystal Rebels
Earth geologist Steen’s mission is to look and act like a Zeeman so he can locate matrix crystals. But when Steen’s deception fails, the beautiful Rain Namaste coaches him. He doesn’t realize he’s fallen in love with the lovely redhead until someone tries to claim her on Hymeneal Night.
Steen will do anything to get Rain back, but is he willing to take her as a Hymeneal bride for himself?
“Who are these for?” asked the shop owner.
“My brother,” She said without a beat.
“Ah, now that would be telling.” She touched the side of her nose and added more clothes to the stack. “How much?”
He went through the stack, muttering under his breath. “Fifty ducats.”
“That’s a little steep. These are used. I’ll give you thirty.”
The proprietor rested a hand on top of the stack. “You’ve got a big pile of clothes here. Forty.”
“It’s okay I’ve got it.” Steen dug into his pocket. This was for him after all.
“Steven, you don’t need to,” Rain said. If she was play acting, it was flawless.
“Excellent.” The shop owner bowed and took the coins which he dropped into a carved box. He then bagged the clothing into several totes. “If any of these don’t fit, please feel free to bring them back.”
Rain frowned. “At a significant deduction on the exchange?”
“Of course, how else am I to make a profit?” He smiled, handing over both totes. “It was nice doing business with you.”
“Thank you. Steven, can you get the totes?”
Steen took the bags, surprised at how much they weighed. “Oof, heavy.”
“You’re a big guy, suck it up. We have more shops to visit.” Rain strolled out the door ahead of him.
“A little advice from a fellow male, she won’t be easy to woo,” the store owner told him. “Rain is a lovely young female, but she’s as difficult as her mother. Just ask Vach. Rain is like Maya, but more energetic. It’s like someone put way too much sweetener into her daily tea.”
“That’s what I’m afraid of.” Steen followed Rain out the door.
I had a special surprise before Thanksgiving, my publisher, Keith Publications, released Exodus Arcon. The prequel to Alien Heart (Chronicles of Arcon Book 1).
I originally wrote this mini series to understand the Arcon males I wrote about in Alien Heart. I needed to know what made them tick, their passions, and why they left their planet.
Exodus Arcon: Prelude to Book 1 Alien Heart: Chronicles of Arcon
Excerpt: Paz picked his way through the scattered toys. Like most young, unmated males, his long white-and-green hair trailed down his back. Finally making it to Keefe, he gave him a hug.
Keefe looked down him. “How are you, youngling?”
“Great! After my school examinations, my instructors told me I will be a scientist.” A proud smile lit his face.
“That’s wonderful, Paz.” Keefe returned returned the smile, but pressure built in his chest. He and Aziza had come to find out if his mother would be joining them. If she didn’t go, his little brother wouldn’t either. Unfortunately, that would mean Paz would have no chance at a future at all.
“I’ve been learning about Earth. Did you know they have five fingers and five toes, instead of four as we do?” He waved his four-fingered hand then wrinkled his nose. “Creepy.”
“Keefe, my offspring, you have no greeting for your maternal unit?” Ynyr asked.
“My apologies, Ynyr.” He approached his mother, careful of the tubes that kept her alive, and embraced her. Then he gently kissed her withered cheek. “How is the most gorgeous female in the galaxy?”
“Flatterer,” she scolded and fluffed her almost-white ponytail. Her lavender hair color was nearly gone, an indication of illness. But she had been considered a great beauty in her youth, and the males in her family continued to treat her as if she still were. “I have to ask your mate something. Go stand by Neron.” She shooed Keefe away.
He obediently joined the youngest of his three paternal units and gripped forearms with him. “What’s this about?”
“Ynyr will be asking something extremely hard of your mate. So, please be supportive of your maternal unit.”
Neron’s expression became serious. “It’s important for the survival of our family line, my son.”
