Expert:

“Megz, you’re making me head spin.” Seth moaned, wanting to taste her lips again. He fought for control.

“Am I going too fast?” She tweaked one of his nipples.

He closed his eyes briefly. It shocked him that one small thing would rock his control. “I reckon with all the times you knocked me back when I tried to get a leg over.”

She furrowed her brow. “We can do this another time. It’s okay. I can wait.” Her face showed her disappointment.

Seth stared at her bare breasts. He wanted to taste them again. “It’ll take a bit, but I reckon I’ll get over it.” He kissed her again as he tugged on her garment.

While he gathered the bottom of her dress, she put her hands over her head, so he could pulled it off.

She gave a nervous chuckle and smoothed down her hair, reclining back with a leisurely stretch. “I feel so free now. I want to share myself with you.”

His heart beat fast. He swallowed, his throat suddenly dry, watching his soon-to-be lover’s luscious figure. Her body, though scarred from the surgeries, was toned as an athlete’s, her breasts full, the planes of her stomach flat. His donger, already hard, throbbed and his body tightened. He needed to have her—all of her—soon.

How to Make Your Book A Page Turner

How to make your book a page turner

 by Janice Seagraves

To make your book a page turner, you’ll need to hook your readers.

Place a hook at the beginning and end of each chapter, so the reader won’t want to set your book down.

A hook doesn’t have to be the middle of some crisis like a cliff hanger in the old serials where the hero is left literally hanging off a cliff. It can be something that leaves a question in the readers mind: Will she/he kiss/accept him/her.

If your story is suspense, mystery or horror, don’t end the conflict until the very last page. Do the same thing if you’re writing romance, keep some unresolved question between your couple until the very last page.

In that way you’re keeping the tension going.

Remember you have to have tension to have a story. No tension, no story.

Then your reader will be staggering into work the next day, saying, “I just read the best book. I couldn’t put it down and didn’t go to sleep until three in the morning.”

Tortured Hero Blog Hop

If you’re looking for the Tortured Hero Blog Hop then you have found it!

My hero Seth in Windswept Shores is torture by his past. He’s running away from his manipulative parents and wants none of their plans for him and his future.

Expert:

Seth strolled back out with a photo album which he set down on the small dining table. Megan turned off the stove and set the pot on a folded tea towel to cool. She walked over, wiping her hands on another one she used as an apron.

Megz, here’s the photos that’ll say what’s what.” He opened the album. “This is my dad.”

“He’s in a suit?” she asked, realizing that it looked expensive.

“My da’s a businessman, though he used to mine opals, and that’s my mum.”

“Can you get rich mining opals?” she asked, noting the smart clothes.

He frowned out the window, but didn’t say anything a moment.

Megan rubbed his shoulders. “Seth, what are you not telling me?”

Megz… I not sure…”

She slid into the opposite seat. “What is it?” Megan studied his apprehensive expression. “Is it bad?”

Naw, blokes just have a bad reaction at the news.” He paused for a moment longer and took a deep breath. “Usually, they put the bite on me when I tell ‘emme da isa bloody rich man.”

“Good heavens.” She stared at the man she thought she knew while she tried to reconcile this fun, hard loving, sometimes badly dressed guy who was also a rich man’s son. “So, that’s how your parents were able to send you to college in the states?”

“My parents wanted me to go to Yale, but I reckoned on Cal State Long Beach because of the surfing. They were just glad I was going.”

“My son Josh goes there.”

“Maybe I ran into him?”

“Two years ago was his freshman year. Josh Lorry, tall skinny with wavy black hair?”

“Hmm, naw, rings no bells.” He turned the page to a photo of three well dressed, brown-headed boys. “These are my two older brothers, but they died in a car crash when I was younger. So, I’m an only child now. My parents wanted me to step into my eldest brother’s shoes.”

“Oh?” Megan studied his unhappy expression. “Did they pressure you?”

“Blimey, Megz, you do ask questions.” He leaned back in the seat, frowning. “Oy they did. Da wants me to take over the company someday. Mum wanted me to be successful at something’. I just wanted a good time. I got married young, divorced, went to Uni, but then took off during spring break. I reckon I ran from it all.”

“I’m sorry to hear about your brothers. But you can’t run from your responsibilities, darling. Sooner or later, it will catch up to you. Are both your parents still alive?”

“Last time I looked.” He smirked. “They’ll have to hunt me down to this here island if they want me back.”

Big Cocks and Shamrocks

If you’re looking for Big Cocks and Shamrocks Blog Hop then you have found it.

Windswept Shores's BookCoverPreview

Windswept Shores is back, and better than ever. It’s something warm to read while it’s frosty outside.

Blurb: The sole survivor of a plane crash, Megan is alone on a deserted island in the Bahamas. Then she finds a nearly-drowned man. Another survivor, this time from a boat wreck.

With only meager survival skill between them, will they survive these windswept shores and can they find love?

For the first time available as a trade paperback: https://www.createspace.com/4084680
And for the Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AS9NDNO

Excerpt:

“Me donger is a big ‘un. Some women don’t like it.” Seth looked off.

“No problem.” Megan shrugged as she sat on the bed.

“You don’t understand.” He rubbed the back of his head.

“I had two big babies, my darling. I’m all stretched out. Jonathan used to complain that making love to me felt like pushing into a bucket,” she said bitterly. “He wanted me to get that reduced, too. But I drew the line there.”

Seth ground his teeth. “I’d like to have a barney with old Johno for making you feel like he got the rough end of the pineapple.”

She frowned. “I’m not sure I understood all that.”

“Your husband’s a rat shit to you, so I’d like to hit him,” he hissed as he ground a fist into his palm. How can a man not want this woman in his arms and hold on to her for the rest of his life?

“Seth, I’ve made some mistakes in my life, and I think he was the biggest. But, my darling, he is my mistake. Not yours.”

“Orright.” He sat next to her, and leaned over, pressed his lips against hers, gradually deepening the kiss. Her scent filled his nose, a light perfume with her own personal aroma. His pulse raced, and his mind spiraled with thoughts of being inside of her. He burned to make love to her.

Unbuttoning his shirt, she slipped it off his shoulders. She ran her hand over his bare chest.

“Megz, you’re making me head spin.” He moaned, wanting to taste her lips again. He fought for control.

“Am I going too fast?” She tweaked one of his nipples.

He closed his eyes briefly. It shocked him that one small thing would rock his control. “I reckon with all the times you knocked me back when I tried to get a leg over.”

Heartbreaker Blog Hop

If you are looking for the Heartbreaker Blog Hop then you have found it.

Windswept Shores's BookCoverPreview My hero Seth is a Heartbreaker. He’s a great looking Australian who has been bumming around America until he’s hired to work on a boat in Florida.  That was until the boat accident that threw him into the ocean in the dead of night.

But Seth meets his match in Megan, the older woman he’s set his sights on.

Excerpt:

His hand lingered on her shoulder. Her trembling vibrated up his arm. Blimey, she’s all shaken up.

“S’kay, she’ll be right.” He grabbed her sleeping pallet, pulled it over, slipping an arm around her waist.

Her body went rigid. “What are you doing?”

“Relax, mate, I’m not trying to get a leg over. You need a bit of comfort so you can go back to sleep. My mum would cuddle me when I’d have a howler of a nightmare. It’s nice to know you’re not alone.”

“So, I’m supposed to think of you like my mom or dad?”

“Or like yer husband if that’ll help?” He grinned in the dark, wondering what kind of reaction he was going to get.

“I think not.”

“I noticed you weren’t wearing a wedding ring. Is it because yer husband drowned?” His heart beat a little faster when he asked the question. He really wanted to know if he had a chance with her.

“No, he’s not drowned,” she snapped. “I lost my ring in the ocean, but I’m not sure when. I just looked down one day, it was gone.”

She’s in denial about her husband’s death. I reckon it’s too soon. A little disappointed, he decided to change subjects. “So, you got any ankle biters at home?”

“Two boys.”

“How old?” he asked. They must be missing their mum, poor little nippers.

“Joshua is twenty. He’s in college. Eli is eighteen and just graduated from high school.”

“Blimey, how long have you been married to your bloke?”

“Twenty-three years this January,” she said.

“How old are you?” He positioned his head where he could breathe in the scent of her hair, and inhaled a floral fragrance. How does she manage to smell fresh in a place like this?

Megan moved a bit forward. “Do you know that it’s considered very rude to inquire after a woman’s age?”

“Not where I’m from, so spill.” He scooted up some, placing his knees behind hers.

She pulled away. “Humph, well, okay I’m forty-two.”

“You’re still spunky.” He wondered how far she’d move until she ran out of room in her tiny shelter.

“Uh, spunky, thanks.” Megan rolled onto her back.

Blimey, she out maneuvered me. Seth was forced to move back, but kept his hand on her tummy.

“You got hitched when you were a young ‘un?” He quickly did the math. She’s a bit older than me. More of a challenge.

“Yeah, I got married at nineteen, but I knew what I wanted, or thought I did. Have you ever been married?”

“Got hitched once.”

“What happened?” she asked. Her bed rustled as she shifted position.

“We got into a blue, she told me to shove off, so I left. So that was the end of that.” His hand drifted to her rib cage.

“Any kids?” she asked, pushing his hand down.

“A son named Nick. He just turned six.”

“Okay, now you have to tell me how old you are.”

“I’m an old prawn. I just had my thirtieth birthday.”

“That’s not old, especially not for a man.”

“I’m starting to feel it when I surf,” he admitted, smoothing a wrinkle on her shirt.

“Oh, you’re a surfer?”

“Back in Uni I got caught up chasing the good breakers on Spring Break. I headed out from Cali to Baja, then from there to Florida. I became a Surfie. That’s what you’d call someone who surfs more than they work. Then I met this old bloke, Bill, in a pub. He’s from Oz too, or so I thought, but it turns out he’s an apple.”

“An apple?” she asked.

“He hails from Tasmania. I was broke doing odd jobs. Bill hired me to help on his fishing boat.”

“Wait a minute, Oz?”

“Oz, short for Australia,” he explained, moving his mouth toward where he thought her ear was, saying softly, “It’s in the sound Au`z-tralia—Oz.”
